mission

The existence of the Misfit Library is determined by wanton desire, the need for strong literature and the magical promise of a good phrase. The Misfit Library will not be trapped by genre boundaries and exists as a nexus for all things fantastic, droll, poignant and tragic.

library

The Library exists both in virtual space and in your brick and mortar book shop. There will be exclusive content in either format. The library index details the collection.

Fall Edition

The Fall line of Misfit-ery is here. We are very pleased to announce the second volume of the Misfit Library Journal. More stories about death, sex, death and sex, and time travel. Our poets have been seduced by the long word and have concocted vibrant prose, while our prose stylists have stepped even further off the beaten paths to find new species of syntax and verbage to slip into your tea when you are not looking.

Sporting a cover photography by our very own Rachelle Nashner, Volume 2 is here to instruct you on how to survive winter. Make sure you send one to a friend.

The detailed table of contents may be found here. Something for you to examine with great relish while you are waiting for the postal workers to bring your Misfit Package to you.

Online Content

There's a new story available from David "Starchy" Grant. Click on this link to read "Orient Express" and experience the train ride/wreck of human emotions running without an engineer in the cab.

Spring Edition

The first volume of the Misfit Library is still available. Celebrate the turn of winter with a copy of the Spring edition of the semi-annual book. Nearly two hundred pages of misfit tales about Orwellian civilizations, monster summonings, time travel, country bank robbings, the rumination of old men, the loss of girlish innocence and the vibrant beauty of poetic license.

We have wrangled an ISBN number for this volume. While we are still in the process of getting it listed with all the usual suspects, you can order the book from your favorite bookseller or distribution channel using this ISBN number: 1-4116-2668-0. Please note that your bookstore or channel may be inclined to charge you more for the book than its cost if ordered directly from us. This is an unfortunate aspect of the independent channels and we hope it doesn't inconvience you too greatly.

The press release for Volume 1 is also available if you'd like to make use of that by sliding copies of it under the doors of your local booksellers.

These volumes may be purchased directly from us. In a truly misfit fashion, it is also available in several independent bookstores. For a list of places where you can find the book on a shelf, follow this link.
